We offer our GreenFuchs oil catch can here, custom-fit for the Toyubaru. The catch system comes with all the necessary mounting accessories and was specially designed for the FA20 and FA24 (hence two models).
The kit includes:
- Oil catch can with integrated filter
- Vehicle-specific bracket
- Matching hoses for your vehicle
- 1/2" connections and other installation materials
With this oil catch can, you can filter out the so-called blow-by vapors from the air and collect them before they damage your injectors with carbon deposits. But please don't panic now! While this problem is quite well-known in direct injection engines, it is rather moderately pronounced in the FA20/FA24. This falls more into the category of "For caution and long life expectancy," as it simply prevents unwanted deposits in your engine. You will know if you have a problem if an excessive amount of oil has collected in the air filter (box).
Especially with turbocharged vehicles, the situation is a bit different; here, this solution and possibly a second catch can directly on the crankshaft housing should definitely be considered.
While this oil catch can is a bit more expensive than a universal solution, it is designed to fit our vehicle perfectly. Furthermore, it is a 2-chamber system with a bronze filter and a baffle plate to separate the oil from the gases particularly reliably. The system is designed to easily fit the 10mm and 12mm points of the intake manifold.
This catch can collects the oil and does not return it to the oil pan. Therefore, the catch can should be emptied regularly. Initially, every 1,500 km is recommended, and over time, you will get a feel for how much collects.
Installation is quite simple and can be done in under 30 minutes, similar to the Mishimoto.
